A new place to call home...

As many of you know, we will be moving to Germany in April of this year. We are moving to Martin's home town, Donaueschingen. It is located near the Black Forest and is about 1 hour away from Stuttgart. I am excited to have the opportunity to live in another country and also very excited about the upcoming opportunity to get to know The Wintermantel family better. I am also very happy that they will get to know Izzy and that she will also get to know them. AND both of us will be able to learn to speak German!! I understand quite a bit, but do not speak much at all. The language barrier will be a huge challenge. I can't even begin to imagine how I will take Izzy to the doctor, go to the store and all of the rest. It will be very interesting, to say the least.

The hard part begins here. We have to pack all of our belongings into a container. It will take about 6 weeks for our belongings to make it across the big pond. We don't have a house or apartment to live in, so we will be living with Martin's parents for the first few weeks.

It is a beautiful place. Here are some pictures:

Martin's parents house. This is where we will live for a few weeks.

In the heart of the Black Forest. This is Triberg.

A few years back, but the snow was beautiful!

Just a little snow. Also a few years back.

Christmas Market in Stuttgart. I look forward to this! Also a few years back.

Looking out from Martin's parents front yard. On a clear day you can see the Alps!

And again...
